2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine. for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart of iniquity.”
DEPART from iniquity if you claim Christ Jesus. If you claim Him who saved us from our sins by hanging on the cross and becoming sin for us, dying and rising on the third day so we can live, depart from it. Depart, my brothers and sisters, from iniquity (i.e. immorality, sin, wickedness, vile, evil, etc ). Everything that is apart from Word of God is sin, evil, wickedness, vile…should we go on?
It is the Word of God that reveals to us (and what is in us) how we should believe, why we should believe, how we should live, why we should live, what we should see, how we should see, what we should hear, how we should hear, how we should love and WHOM we should believe in. The Holy Spirit, our Comforter, reveals to us what He wants to share with us but he doesn’t depart from the Word of God. The world hates the Word of God because the world hates God, Elohim. Jesus did warn us in the Word of God, that if the world hates us know that it hated Him first (read John 15:18-25). The world loves iniquity and there are many examples of that on social media, in Hollywood, in the music industry, on wall street, in corporations, in countries, in cities, in towns, and even on the our very blocks.
Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” Amen. Where is your heart today? Who does your heart belong to? Is your heart on the things of this world? Or is your heart on Jesus? Okay, think of it this way brothers and sisters in Christ: Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Jesus loves you brothers and sisters in Christ. We were chosen to be set apart, not to look like the rest of the world: to be in it but not of it. To be led by the Holy Spirit, not by our flesh. To read and obey the Word of God, not to reject it. Don’t choose sin over Jesus and put Him on the cross again. Don’t allow yourself to be like a dog to return to your own vomit. Rest in Jesus, but for you to enter into His rest is for you to depart from sin and cling to Jesus Christ.
God bless you and God loves you!
