Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you
A lot of has happen in our America these last few weeks. There has been bitterness and confusion and understanding but most of all a learned helplessness in the air that has been present. There are many who do not understand what is happening all over the world but as Christians, we know. The enemy is not of flesh and blood but invisible to man and his devices invisible to man. We know that there is a spiritual battle going on and wickedness in high places are just becoming very rampant in today’s world because we are in the end times.
Jesus warned us beforehand that these things will happen, that nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, we have seen these things come to pass. We see that there are those who don’t know God, are scared of man and make irrational decisions because of the fear that is in them. Then you have men who don’t know the whole story and the times that we live in and so take the law into their own hands because they are tired and weak. Then you have those who don’t understand, who are left to see the mess unravel and forced to “pick” a side.
Well, as a Christian, I am not for a “side”. I am on God’s side. There is no other side to be but his. We understand what is happening in this world and as much as it hurts us, we are not shocked by it. Yesterday, I had to come to that understanding where I don’t belong to myself anymore. Who I am is not my color nor is it my culture. God does not look at the outer appearance as man does but he looks at the heart. However, I got mad so many times these past few weeks for many reasons. For what people have done. For what people have said over social media from their “sides” and the racism I have witnessed on social media from both “sides”. The bitterness I felt by seeing this was rising. The faces that looked at me with unsureness, distastefulness, confusion, sadness, understanding but not really, fear and all other faces put between. I had to repent to God of this anger because it was sinful.
There are those who don’t know how to react. There are those who do not know where to go to tell their story. There are those who don’t have a shoulder to lean on. There are those who feel left out. There are those who just don’t know the love that God has for them but they carry all these burdens. God never meant for any of us to do that. This is not our fight. We should talk about racism because it does exist but not by our flesh but by what the word of God says about it. What does Jesus say about loving your neighbor has yourself? What did he say about seeking God and you will find him? What did the word of God say about loving others and loving God will all your mind, heart, soul and strength? What did the word of God say about not repaying evil for evil but good? The word says these things for us to go by them, to live by them and to share them with the world.
Yet, there are those who are choosing for themselves “sides”. Yet there are those who call themselves Christians and are choosing sides. They are forgetting their identity in Christ. They are forgetting who they are as I did. I was looking at the flesh of those but I wasn’t focusing my attention on Jesus Christ. That is where our eyes should be. It really doesn’t matter what people think of me. No matter how “good” you are or how nice you are or how respectful you are. There are always going to be those who don’t like you for what you look like and/or for who you are in Christ Jesus. God knows though. God knows all. This divide that we see everywhere is sinful and now people are asking what to do.
You tell them what to do because you know as a child of God, you know that all of us need God. We need Jesus. We need to pray for one another. We need to love on one another. We need to listen to one another. We need to comfort one another. We need to empathize with one another. We are called to be a light, so be that light. Don’t choose “sides”. You are not of this world, but you were chosen by God out of this world. So don’t identify yourself as this or that but as a child of God. One that has been set free from this world and covered by the blood of the lamb and forgiven by God himself. This is our focus.
Talk to me people. What is weighing heavy on your mind? What do you need to talk about? What do you need to get off your chest? Don’t rant on social media about it. Talk to God about it and if you want you can talk to me or another trusted brother or sister in Christ. Leave your comments here. If you need prayer, I will pray for you. Just leave your prayer requests on this comment section or on the contact section of this blog. We need to come together as the Church, as the body of Christ. We need to come together, right now and show the world that we mean business. That our God is the everlasting God and our God can be their everlasting God too no matter what comes their way. God is love and as his children we must share that with each other and with the world that is lost without him. Amen.
