Psalm 69:29-30 ” But I am poor and sorrowful; let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.”
Everyone goes through life storms, everyone have to go through trial and tribulation at least once in their life because that is how life is. Does that mean that we should stop forgetting when God saved us and pulled us our of the mire of life? Does that mean we should just not praise God or worship him because now it seems as God has forgotten us? No. THAT is the lie that satan tries to feed you when you go through battles. But you have to be reminded by the word of God, by your own testimony that God is an everlasting Father with everlasting mercy and everlasting grace. He does not change, nor does he sleep or forget about his children or his creation. Why do we feel compelled to think that God has forgotten us through these tribulations where really when we think such thoughts, we have truly forgotten what God has done for us and what we have seen he has done for others. Jesus said that he came so that WE may have LIFE and have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
The enemy wants to destroy what God has given you, he wants to steal your joy, the joy of your salvation. Don’t let him! PRAISE GOD. Through your calamities, through your trials, through your tribulation, praise God because you know, you know that he will never leave you nor forsake you. You know that God loves you more than you could ever know in this life time. Praise him for what he has done for you, yes, but also for just who HE is. That he is love and has such mercy and just kindness and just compassion and such MAJESTY! His glory overflows the earth and in our hearts! We know who he is because we serve the only GREAT GOD, and we are his children!
The psalmist knew this, that even though the enemy compassed him about, in every direction and that issues of life coming in like a flood. He understood that God is in control and his power is MIGHTY. And through his darkness, through his sorrow, he knew God was still sovereign. He knew that God was still good, he knew that God still loved him and he knew that God still showed him mercy. He continued to praise God and to sing to him a song and magnify God’s goodness with thanksgiving.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 ” In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Don’t give up, do not doubt the Lord God or his hand in your life because he loves you so! Keep praising God, keep showing his love to others, keep worshiping him. Knowing full well that God will bring you OUT, being more strong, more humbled and more dependent on God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All who are one God!
God bless you!
