Do Not Forget!

James 1:22-25 ” But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself; and goeth his way, and straight way forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh unto the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” Amen!

Christians we are called to a light of the world, salt to the earth; how are others to know who we are (Children of God) if we do not show them? How are they (children of the world) to know where to go if we do not point them to that direction by being representations of Christ Jesus? We are to be not only hearers but doers of the word of God as the Apostle James had written. What is being doers of the word? How can we can possibly DO what God has commanded us? By obeying what God has said for us to do which is obey his commandments, his laws. What are his commandments?

Luke 10:27 “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” These two commandments we do, we do them to please God and not man. We do not chase after the world. Do not be deceived brothers and sisters, the evil one want to sift you as wheat, he wants to make you stray away from the truth. God is truth and there is no truth beside him. Jesus said to us that he is the ONLY way, truth and life, he the ONLY door to the father, John 14:15 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” The only bridge to cross from darkness to light, from hell to heaven, from lost to found! Amen.

We cannot hate, we cannot sow strife in the church and who is the church? According to the word of God, WE ARE. Ephesians 1:21-23 “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church. Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” Who was Paul talking about? Jesus Christ. We, the body of believers are his temple, not made by man’s hand but by God. Amen.

As the church of God, not a building, we are to be the house on the hill. We are to be provide shelter for someone who is homeless, we are to provide clothes and food to someone who is naked and hungry, to help comfort someone who is hurting, the ear to someone who needs to talk, the message to someone who is trying to find the truth who we know to be only God, the shoulder to someone to who needs to lean on us as John leaned on Jesus at the last supper, the hand to someone who needs help to get up, the care to someone who needs compassion, the LOVE that God has shown to us to someone who never tasted the goodness of God. The word of God said that true religion to him is this: 1 James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Everyone is called for a purpose but the overall purpose for every believer is to show God to the world. We are God’s hands and feet. To give the good news (about Jesus Christ) and bring good tidings (about Salvation through Jesus Christ) and to love and to even to rebuke in Jesus name. Christians all have different experiences and journeys but we are all supposed have the same source which is the word of God and going to the same place, which is being with the Lord who is THE light of the world. We only have the light because God lives in us which is the Holy Spirit. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit which was, and is and is to come, nothing is new with our God, he stays the same forever. His plans never fail and his promises he always keep. But as Children of the only God, we need to be examples of that.

We are not perfect, nor on this earth will we ever be but since we have God with us, do you know how much capable we are to be a light in a dark place which is ever-growing in our society, and to be doers of the word and not just hearers. The word said that it is impossible for man to save himself but with God all things are possible: Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Don’t get it twisted, we are not saved by works, works cannot save us but only by God’s grace which is everlasting. However, we are as the Lord commands us to be doers, so we can reap what we sow and be fruitful, not for us, we know God is good. We need to do this for the Lord God because we want to please our Father in heaven and also because we know how it feels to be left in the dark. We know how it feels to have heavy burdens that we couldn’t carry ourselves, we know how it feels to live without God and it wasn’t pretty for us. And neither is it good for the world because look at what is happening around the world! To unbelievers, to our brothers and sisters in Christ, to strangers and to children, just to people, be victims and victimized.

This world needs God more than ever before and we need to pray for those who are in these trails and tribulations, to give us courage to minister the Good News to others when prompted by the Holy Spirit and to give thanks to God for blessing us and blessings others. Praising him and worshiping him because he, the Lord God, is worthy to be praised! Amen!

1 Thessalonians 5:16 -18 “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

God bless!
