Vengeance is not ours but the Lord’s

A couple of days ago I was watching a Christian program on my laptop and they were talking about the news over in the middle east. They were talking about Isis and their evil corrupted hearts and what they were doing to people and to especially Christian, women, men and children. I was reading the bible while I was listening to it and I tell you I got pretty angry. I asked myself what I needed to do, I asked myself how I can to destroy those evil men because all they do is destroy and that is on their heart to do. I was sad for the children and the women, just the families that were being taunted and killed because they love Jesus. I nearly wanted to hate them but you know what. I wasn’t paying attention to the words of God in the bible but as I was like day-dreaming reading ( you know how you are reading yet you are not really reading but thinking of other things?). I came across these scriptures in the word of God, Romans 12:18-21 “If it be possible, as much lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” AMEN!

This life is not an eternity, it is only a grain of sand compared to eternity, maybe even less. We do not have time to hate, to dislike, to be angry all our lives. Now don’t get me wrong what I was feeling was a righteous anger. My brothers and sisters are hurting and losing other brother and sisters in Christ. What Christian wouldn’t feel heart-broken or angry over what is happening not just in the Middle East but everywhere it seems, and its only getting worse and will get worse. The bible said that their would be a time that people will not listen to the Gospel but false doctrines that the itchy ears want to hear. But in all this we have to realize that we are living in the flesh and it is not of God to hate anything or anyone. There is a difference between righteous anger and unrighteous anger but hating is totally leaning towards unrighteousness because the only thing us Christians should hate is EVIL, sin basically. We should abhor it as much as God does but the thing with us is we tend to cross the line. With us human beings sometimes it could difficult for us to even love a person and hate the sin without disliking the person too and judging them. That’s another thing though, we have to have a Christ like mind and so we should think just like he thinks or at least TRY to. He didn’t hide what he thought because he said everything he needed to say in the word of God and he represented everything that we need to represent now. He saw the hearts of those who sinned and hated that sin but loved the human being. We have to do the same.

Jesus saw beyond the flesh, GOD sees beyond the flesh and goes straight to the heart. That is how we should live and love. However, when it comes to the evil acts such as this, we don’t love it at all but it is good to pray for those who have to endure such conflict and troubles for God to give them strength and to bring them out. To pray that if there is any chance for these dark hearted men to change heart and open their eyes to Jesus Christ our savior who sits at the right hand of God ; the real God on the throne. Then that would happen if it’s the Lord’s will but from the looks of it, they don’t want to change. So because of that I wouldn’t be surprised if God just gave them over to their sinful lusts and minds. Though I still think if God can change a man like Saul who prosecuted the church and change his name into Paul an apostle of the Gentiles and became to love Christ so much that he didn’t care who was in front of him but was zealous for God to tell the Gospel to those on the streets and in the synagogues. Why can’t it be possible for these men?  It’s a beautiful thing how awesome our God is and how anything is possible with him. As much as my flesh want every being that do such evil acts to pay for what they did/do. I know that is not God’s will, he loves all and he is willing to forgive all. If only all were willing to open their hearts to him; so we should to forgive like God forgives. His will is for NONE to perish but for everyone to have everlasting life. 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Again, the Lord sees all and knows all so if anyone does do you wrong, don’t repay evil with evil but evil with good. Don’t even give it a second thought, just move on with your life with Jesus so you can grow in the Lord God and become used by him. Because when we have bitterness or un-forgiveness or hatred in the heart, its difficult for God to use you or for the Holy Spirit to penetrate your heart and to guide you the way he wants you to go or for God to even bless you because you still hold a grudge, hatred, bitterness. The God we serve is a God of love (HE IS LOVE) and he said that we MUST forgive those who transgressed against us so he can forgive us for our sins.  Matthew 6:15 “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” So I ask you today that if you have any of these things left in your heart, you need to let it go. If you do not forgive those who transgressed against you, they keep the power whether you know it or not.  Give it over to the Lord. He will cleanse you. Ask the Lord God to take it from you in Jesus name! Because you have a life to live and a God to serve. Matthew 5: 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”
