Pride comes before the fall

When we look around the world, we see there is a lot of greed and wants of power. These people, who are elite, powerful, and rich who wants more money, more food, more water, more materials, more necessities, more everything. But pride comes before the fall….as it was told in the bible Galatians 6:3 ” For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” Proverbs 26:12 “Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.” Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” However, this isn’t just for the rich who trusts in riches but for man because any man/women is capable of having too much pride. Pride in their work, made into an idol, pride in their titles, pride in their materials, pride in their accomplishments. If we do not give God the praise, the rocks will,  Luke 19:40 “And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” If we don’t fall on our knees and thank God for giving us the blessings that we were given from him and we say “it was all on my own? What then would happen? How is our heart? Not in a good place. If we find ourselves making ourselves better than we are, then as it is told, we are deceiving ourselves. Because it is by our own power or even by our faith but by GOD’s GRACE. His love is what unites us to him, and he is in control, all the time. Proverbs 19:21 “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.”

You know the story of the evil one, he had so much pride in heart that he was cast out of heaven because he thought he could take God’s place. He still thinks he could do a better job but we, filled with wisdom and the Holy Spirit know better. We know that God is a forever lasting God and there none like him, regardless of what anyone man or anything says. If you hear of such that contradicts the word of God, is a LIE. God is the ALMIGHTY, the untouchable one, the awesome one, the HOLY one. There is none like him, no, not one and never will be. But you know the story, if one heart fills with coldness and with pride what comes next, the fall. See, I heard a saying that God has the power to show you who’s God and it is true. He has shown me multiple times when my pride got in a way. When I forgot who really gave me the blessings and mercy, he showed me very well who is in power, him. The enemy lies perpetrate light (because we are inherently dull creatures) but all it is, is DARKNESS. We know this by the Holy Spirit when it is confirmed what is of God and what is not of God. Romans 9:1 “I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,” He did so with Adam and Eve, lied, telling Eve that she be like God, knowing good and evil by eating the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam in turn seal the fate of man down the line into the now, present. This is the SAME lie that it being told to the rest of the world. You need more to get more, you need more money, you need more materials, you need more this and that. To have more power, to have more wealth, to have more authority. Well, I am here to tell you, all you need is Jesus. JESUS is the only way, truth and life. John 14:6  “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

You do not need anything else, but HIM. He is the only one to give you salvation which lasts forever if you believe Jesus died for you and you make him your lord and savior forever and ever. None else can replace that, no amount of power on God’s green earth, no amount of money and no amount fame can take the priceless gift of salvation. So, don’t stoop low to pride and don’t even create a foothold to it. Ephesians 4:27 “Neither give place to the devil.”

I am not saying not to be proud of your children, or of your relationship with God when it is a good one. There is nothing wrong with boasting about God’s blessings that he has given us and his love and mercy he has gifted to us because he loves us! But when it comes to false pride, self-righteousness, when it comes to haughtiness, God does not take it lightly. A matter of fact he hates it because it turns a man’s heart away from him and make him more like the enemy and that is what the enemy wants. Humble yourself before God, that is what he appreciates, knowing how little power you have but to be able to turn to him and worship him and acknowledging of who he is, GREAT. Acknowledging that we are NOTHING without God, James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” It’s not that he needs the acknowledgement  as if he needs anything but it shows him how much we appreciate him and it shows us how much we really do need him and are lost without him in this world: in the galaxy. It also shows the world when we praise him in good times and in bad times that we don’t have to rely on worldly things that the world considers good and needed (lots of money, fame, etc) but we rely on Jesus Christ. We put our faith in him and for him to supply our needs. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

God created all and he created us. He has the power, all of it and he is always in control. Don’t think for one moment you getting anything pass God because you’re not, he knows your heart and all you need to do is to submit and surrender to God. He will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” God shall direct your paths, just trust in him. Psalm 51:17 ” The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding.” Jesus loves you!

Too many times people say they made it on their own. But, in reality, He carried them! We are nothing without Him.

Exactly! We are nothing without the Lord. We all have been in the situation, thinking we did it and this was our own accomplishment done by only us. I have been in that lie myself, but I just didn’t understand that God is everything and without him, we can do nothing. Thank you for your comment and forgive me for the late reply ( = God loves you and God bless you.
