We are saved by his Grace not by our works

There are people today that live by this motto, I need to do works in order to be saved or in order to be loved by God. I need to do good works in order to feel complete and whole. That is so far from the truth but some people don’t know any better because they were taught that good works that are done is considered good and righteous before God. The good works that are done in this world is considered to some people that is all they need to do, even without FAITH, to be accepted and pure before God. Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Our good works can be good for others but what are they in the presence of God, who is Holy, pure and true? He is everything who needs nothing, so what are our good works for when we serve a God that don’t need them? Well, our neighbor, a stranger who is in need, so by this evidence of our faith, we make a world a more warm-hearted and secure place. But let me tell you this, God loved us while we were still in SIN. We did “good” works I’m sure but we did a whole lot a bad ones and what are our good works compared to the sin that dwelt inside all? So, what did save us? God’s everlasting grace, mercy, and love. John 3:16 says it all.

The world was sin and still live in sin but NOW God gave his Son Jesus as a living sacrifice. We can now choose life who is life, Jesus, and no amount of good works can make that possible. No matter how rich, no matter how talented, no matter how smart, no matter how “happy” one thinks he/she is. God is the only answer, Jesus said, John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Don’t get me wrong, we are called to do good works because we ought to be more like Christ who gave himself to the masses of people who were willing to hear and even to those who were unbelieving. He healed them and gave them God’s true living word. So yes, we are called to do good works because God did a good work in us, and still is doing a good work in us, if we continue in the faith. Philippians 1:6″Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  He made us and he saved us because he LOVES us. We ought to give that to our neighbors, those promises, that hope and love that we feel by God. We are to be a living testimony of what God has done for us to the world because the world is dark and we are light because Jesus is light and was/is the light that came/will come into the world. They would then know who lives in us and what want that to by seeing these works not given by our own will but God’s will.

Some live by the motto, do good then be good (religious and non-religious alike) but we know better than that. We know that faith without works is dead. Why? Because we are representations of what God has done in us, and we are to show that to the world because they think that just the works could buy salvation when it does not. That is lie if one says that because it never will. Oh yes, works without faith is dead( works does not give us salvation) and faith without works is dead (works shared with others will show that it is God that did a good work in us and proof and evidence of our faith). James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” I recommend that you read James 2:14-26. It explains what we ought to DO in our faith and not live by our own self-righteousness but to live by God’s true righteousness because he is who lives in us, Jesus, who gave his life for us.

Just remember that we are all called to do good, to give, like God gave is son Jesus in LOVE. We ought not to give expecting something in return but just doing what is good and what is right before God and what he called us to do because it pleases him. Every child of God should want to please God and for his face to shine upon us. Hebrews 13:16 “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Yes, what is sown is also reaped, good and bad and lets not forget that. We give good, with a genuine heart, we reap good and that is the same vice versa. If you do harm there is a 100% chance that without true repentance and remorse, that harm can turn around on you. To some that is called karma, like the world has a mind of its own but I believe it’s justice, Romans 12:19 “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” But let’s not forget that it is by God’s grace we are saved and not by our works. This comes to show you how awesome our God is, how much he loves us and how much he wants us to be whole. The only way to become whole is to have faith and believe in what Jesus has done for us all. He is the only one to fill the holes in our hearts and the only light to fill the dark areas of our minds.  Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Galatians “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Jesus loves you and God bless you.

Love,
