Pursue God

Sometimes, okay…many of times we let the world distract us from God and his will for us. Our work can be one of them, getting busy bodied, making plans, trying to be in control when we know we are not. There is nothing wrong with being determined and a hard worker but when we let that be our idol, that is when we have to step back, take a breath and focus on God. We can let sin distract us, how so? By focusing on the sin instead of focusing on God which in the long run we fail on because we lose our focus on Jesus which love covers all sins, not our love but God’s love. That is also very distracting, I have caught myself many times, focusing on the sins of people and the world negatively. Being critical in thought. It is not wrong to know the difference between what is righteous of God and to know what is righteous and what is not and to be able to discern the difference. But when you focus and think upon sin all the time and the worldly things in this world, the fleshly things of this world. We lose focus on what matters, the goodness of God and maybe even get tempted by doing them. If not tempted, then you start to get a critical spirit, judging people and forgetting what really matters, love, loving people the way God loves us.

So many things can distract us from God, worry, worrying about bills, worrying about work, worrying about the car or the house or this or that. Not good, the bible says not to worry, 1 Peter 5:7 ” Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” And to be Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” You don’t have to worry because God knows what you need before you do, all you need to do is to bring it to him and lay it at his feet. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” God knows all and he knows what you need and what you want but isn’t it only right to trust in God for all these material things. Isn’t he higher than anything or any of us, so why even trouble yourself with them. Let go and let God.

Fear is another thing that distracts us from God. Don’t doubt your walk with him, have faith in his promises which he promised in his Son, Jesus. What he did on the cross for us and what we has taught us through the word of God. He doesn’t want us to fret, he doesn’t want us to fear because when we do, in a way we doubt his very nature, his power, his love and that’s no good. It doesn’t strengthen us, and it doesn’t renew us and it doesn’t bring us closer to God. John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

God loves you very much and he doesn’t want you to think of him as some distant father in the clouds. He is real, very real and he hears his own, you Christians, you daughters and sons of the Most High LIVING God. Don’t give another thought to worry and don’t give into fear or into sin because God is above all these things and Jesus died for us so we won’t have to think of these things once you believe in him. We need to pursue God, he is our father, he is not distant from us, even when we can’t feel or see him, he is right beside us. God knows all, and sees all, there is nothing he doesn’t know before you do or there is nothing he doesn’t see that you don’t see. He is everything and he is all that we need. How can we know more of him, how can we pursue him, by reading his word, his words from him to us. The Word of God has everything that there is to live for him, how to be a parent, how to be a daughter/son, how to be a wife and husband and even how to be a leader. However, he never says to put your daughter first, he never says put your husband first, he never says put your mother or your earthly dad first. He says before all else, put me first because I AM. Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Exodus 3:14 “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” I am the one who provides you shelter, you food, you clothing. So before all else, lay your troubles at his feet, go to your father, leave the world behind and go to GOD. Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

He will never leave you, he will never forsake you. Press through the sins of this world, don’t focus on the darkness of this world, know that its there, yes and shine through it but focus on God’s goodness, mercies, love, compassion and blessings. Philippians 4:8 ” Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” This is what we all must do, have a mind like Christ. It’s never easy because there is some disturbing things out there and sometimes we want to get angry and we want to get mad and we want to hold a grudge but that is not what we are called to do. We are called to love and to share the word of God. We are to be like Jesus, we aren’t but that is goal while we are here, to be representations of Christ. So, I recommend that people read the word of God, the scriptures and note all the things that Jesus had done and had said to people. What he said, how he said it, and when he did. What he did and how he prayed. We know we can’t be  100% like Jesus and do what he did exactly, it’s just not possible in this flesh of ours. However, note them, meditate on them( the scriptures) because this how we should try to be like, Jesus. In everything we do and in how we approach whatever we do approach and how we take them and how react to them; do we react in our flesh or do we think first, what would Jesus do?

This is a pursuing on how to be a representation of Jesus Christ, even though we are never going to be perfect here on earth, this is our pursuing, to pursue God. How can we do this? By reading the WORD Of GOD, getting closer to him by praying in the spirit and worshiping in the spirit. John 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” Colossians 4:2 ” Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;” Remember that God is a spirit, so everything we must do is in the spirit, not in the flesh. I hope to God that this helps someone in their walk with Christ and builds them up. Don’t ever doubt God’s love for you, the devil lies to many often and tells them that God doesn’t care about us but it is a LIE and I rebuke in the name of Jesus! God loves you, so pursue him, get to know him and his heart. It’s all there that we need to know now, right now, not tomorrow, Matthew 6:34 “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” But today, right now. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Love,
